EUBizNews

Editorial Standards

EUBizNews is a business-news publication focused on the economic, corporate, investment and policy relationship between Europe and Latin America. These standards guide our newsroom and apply across our English and Spanish coverage.

Accuracy and verification

We aim to publish information that is accurate, attributable and presented in context. Reporters and editors should verify names, dates, figures, quotations and material factual claims before publication. When available, we prioritize primary sources such as official documents, regulatory filings, company statements, public data and on-the-record interviews.

Sourcing and attribution

Information from third parties should be clearly attributed. Direct quotations must reflect what a source actually said and should not be materially altered. Anonymous or unnamed sourcing should be used only when there is a legitimate editorial reason and the information can be responsibly assessed by the newsroom.

Editorial independence

Editorial decisions are made independently from advertisers and commercial partners. Sponsored, paid or commercially supported material must be clearly disclosed so readers can distinguish it from independent editorial coverage.

Conflicts and disclosures

Material relationships or interests that could reasonably affect how readers interpret a story should be disclosed when relevant. Opinion and contributed pieces should be presented in a way that makes their nature clear to readers.

Translations and bilingual publishing

EUBizNews publishes in English and Spanish. A translated version should preserve the facts, meaning and attribution of the source version while reading naturally in the target language. Where a full translated version is not available, the site may display the available language rather than present an incomplete translation as finished editorial copy.

Use of AI and newsroom technology

Technology and AI-assisted tools may support newsroom workflows such as transcription, translation, research organization, formatting or drafting assistance. Published journalism remains subject to editorial review. AI tools must not be used to fabricate quotations, sources, events, credentials or factual claims.

Corrections and updates

When we identify a material factual error, we correct it as promptly as practical. We do not change publication dates simply to make old stories appear new. Our detailed approach is set out in the EUBizNews Corrections Policy.
