Enzo Ventures Closes €20M Fund II to Boost Southern European Startups

Enzo Ventures has closed its second fund at €20 million, doubling the resources available to invest in Southern European founders at the pre-seed stage and marking a significant increase in venture capital for startups in the region.

The Barcelona-based firm’s Fund II follows its initial €10 million Fund I launched in 2023, which focused on early-stage investments supporting both local entrepreneurs and members of the Southern European diaspora. According to Enzo Ventures, the new fund will remain dedicated to founders from Southern Europe, expanding the firm’s ability to identify and nurture promising startups from an early stage.

The closure of Fund II comes as Southern Europe’s innovation ecosystem seeks to narrow the gap with more established venture capital markets in Western and Northern Europe. Increased funding at the pre-seed stage is expected to improve access to capital for local entrepreneurs, which has historically been a barrier to scaling regional startups.

For investors, the larger fund raises the potential for higher returns if the region’s startup ecosystem continues its trajectory of growth. The success of Fund II could also attract further institutional capital to Southern Europe, reinforcing a positive feedback loop of investment and innovation.

However, the region’s startups remain exposed to market volatility and economic uncertainty, with success rates depending on both the availability of capital and the ability to scale internationally. Enzo Ventures’ strategy, initiated in 2023, positions it to play an influential role in shaping the next generation of Southern European tech companies.

The firm has yet to announce which startups will benefit from Fund II. The long-term impact of this increased investment capacity will depend on how effectively Enzo Ventures identifies high-potential founders and supports their growth in a competitive, dynamic market.
