Spanish Defence Firm GMS Plesium Partners with Roca Defence to Expand Across Latin America

Spain's GMS Plesium has entered into a bilateral framework agreement with Roca Defence & Systems, creating a strategic partnership designed to expand both companies' presence in Latin America's growing defence market.

The agreement combines GMS Plesium's expertise in military maintenance equipment, weapon mounts and logistical support systems with Roca Defence's commercial network and regional presence across Argentina, Mexico and the United States.

Targeting Latin America's defence modernisation

The partnership is intended to support the increasing demand for defence modernisation programmes across Latin America, where governments continue investing in military mobility, logistics, equipment maintenance and operational readiness.

Under the agreement, Roca Defence will promote selected GMS Plesium solutions throughout authorised Latin American markets, while the Spanish company will help expand the visibility of Roca Defence's programmes in Europe.

The framework also establishes cooperation in commercial representation, regional distribution, after-sales support, technical integration and joint business development.

Strengthening Europe's defence industry abroad

For GMS Plesium, the alliance represents another step in its internationalisation strategy as European defence companies seek new export opportunities beyond their domestic markets.

The Spanish company has more than 25 years of experience developing maintenance equipment, recovery systems, specialised tools and weapon support solutions for armed forces, positioning itself as a supplier of integrated defence logistics technologies.

The agreement comes at a time when European defence manufacturers are increasing cooperation with partners in Latin America, driven by higher defence spending and renewed interest in industrial collaboration.

Growing opportunities for Europe–Latin America cooperation

Latin America has become an increasingly attractive market for European defence suppliers as several countries modernise military fleets and strengthen operational capabilities.

Beyond equipment sales, companies are pursuing partnerships focused on technology transfer, industrial cooperation, maintenance services and long-term support contracts.

The GMS Plesium–Roca Defence alliance reflects this broader trend, highlighting the growing role of cross-border industrial partnerships in strengthening defence ecosystems across both regions.
