Italy's Z_One Fund raises over €35 million to drive AI and UrbanTech innovation
Z_One Fund's major fundraising signals growing investor appetite for AI and UrbanTech startups, reinforcing Italy's position in Europe's innovation landscape.

Z_One Fund, managed by Eureka! Venture, has secured more than €35 million at its first close, setting the stage for increased investment in AI and UrbanTech startups across Italy and Europe.
The fund targets a total of €60 million, with support from institutional backers including CDP Venture Capital SGR through its newly introduced Fondo Acceleratori 2. This fundraising reflects a broader trend of capital flowing into technology sectors seen as strategic for economic growth and digital transformation.
Analysts point to the fund’s focus as evidence of mounting investor confidence in AI and UrbanTech, sectors expected to drive productivity gains, urban efficiency, and new business models. The capital injection could accelerate the development of startups specializing in artificial intelligence and urban innovation, potentially positioning Italy as a competitive hub in these fields.
However, the venture capital landscape remains exposed to volatility, especially in the high-risk startup segment. Achieving the fund’s full €60 million target may face challenges if market conditions deteriorate or if portfolio companies underperform.
For institutional investors, participation through vehicles like Fondo Acceleratori 2 underscores a growing willingness to support early-stage technology ventures. This trend may attract further international capital and foster cross-border collaboration, benefitting both founders and the broader European tech ecosystem.
The fundraising success of Z_One Fund highlights the evolving priorities of European venture capital, with AI and UrbanTech emerging as key drivers of innovation and economic resilience.
