Toblerone and Biscoff Join Forces for Global Diamond Truffles Launch
The collaboration between Mondelēz International and Lotus Bakeries will reach several European and international markets through two product formats, including a premium box distributed exclusively by Costco.

Toblerone is expanding beyond its traditional triangular chocolate bars through a global partnership with Lotus Biscoff. The two brands have launched Toblerone Diamond Truffles with Biscoff, combining milk chocolate, caramelised biscuit spread and pieces of honey-and-almond nougat.
The product represents the latest step in Toblerone’s effort to broaden its presence in the premium boxed-chocolate segment. The Mondelēz International-owned brand introduced its diamond-shaped truffles in 2024, establishing a new format alongside the triangular bars that have defined its identity for more than a century.
Each piece consists of a Toblerone milk-chocolate shell containing Biscoff spread and crunchy nougat. The launch seeks to capitalise on consumer demand for products that combine familiar brands and flavours in new formats, while strengthening the position of both companies in the confectionery and gifting categories.
A Multimarket Launch With Costco
The truffles will be commercialised in two sizes. A 495-gram premium box will be sold exclusively through Costco in the United States, Canada, Taiwan, Australia, the United Kingdom, Spain, France, Sweden, Iceland and New Zealand.
A smaller 180-gram sharing box will initially be available in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Switzerland and Australia, with additional markets expected to follow.
The agreement is particularly significant for Mondelēz because it marks the first time the company has worked with Costco to introduce a Toblerone product range across several global markets simultaneously. The retailer’s international network gives the launch immediate access to consumers across North America, Europe, Asia and Oceania.
Iain Livingston, president of Toblerone and World Travel Retail at Mondelēz International, said the collaboration followed the commercial performance of the brand’s original diamond-shaped truffles. He added that consumers increasingly seek unexpected combinations of products and flavours they already recognise.
For Lotus Bakeries, the partnership provides another channel through which to extend Biscoff beyond its traditional biscuit category. Isabelle Maes, the company’s chief marketing officer, said the agreement would bring the brand’s caramelised flavour and texture to consumers in a different product format.
Two European Brands With Global Reach
Toblerone was created in 1908 by Theodor Tobler and Emil Baumann. Its name combines the Tobler family name with torrone, the Italian term for honey-and-almond nougat. Around 90% of the brand’s products are currently manufactured in Bern, Switzerland, where production has been based since 1985.
Lotus Biscoff originated in Belgium in 1932 and has since developed into an international brand encompassing its original caramelised biscuit, sandwich biscuits and spreads. Its growing use as an ingredient in chocolates, desserts and other packaged products has become an important element of Lotus Bakeries’ expansion strategy.
The new truffles bring together two European food brands with established global recognition, while illustrating a broader trend in the consumer-goods industry: partnerships between well-known labels designed to accelerate product development, attract new customers and generate visibility in highly competitive retail categories.
For Mondelēz, the launch adds another format to Toblerone’s portfolio and strengthens its position in premium confectionery and seasonal gifting. For Lotus Bakeries, it offers further exposure for Biscoff through a global chocolate brand and one of the world’s largest membership-based retail chains.
